We use a sterile, single-use piercing system with the earring pre-mounted in its cartridge: the piercing and the earring placement happen in one gentle motion, in a healthcare setting with disposable material. Before we start, we show you the available hypoallergenic earrings designed for a first piercing, and mark the position with you so both sides are symmetrical.

Frequently asked questions
From what age can a baby have their ears pierced?
There is no single legal age, but as healthcare professionals we recommend waiting at least until the baby has had their first vaccine doses (at around two months), as paediatricians advise. If you are unsure about timing, we are happy to advise — and for any medical concern, check with your paediatrician first.
Are there cases where piercing is not advisable?
Yes. Check with your doctor or paediatrician first if there is a clotting disorder or anticoagulant treatment, immunosuppression, a tendency to keloid scarring, or a heart condition requiring endocarditis prophylaxis: in those cases the piercing should be medically assessed first.
Does it hurt?
It is over in an instant. We use a piercing system designed to minimise discomfort and take our time, especially with little ones. Most babies cry for a few seconds and settle quickly.
What aftercare is needed?
Keep the area clean following the written instructions we give you, leave the starter earrings in for the first weeks, and keep an eye on the area. If you notice increasing redness, pain or discharge, come and see us or consult your doctor or paediatrician.
